僕という人間が何者かと考えたとき、正直な気持ちを口にすると、染師でも藍師でも職人でも作家でもないような感覚なのです。ただひとついえることは、藍のことが心の底から好きでやまない人であるということ。

幼少期に藍に触れたことをはじまりに、 くらしの節目や転換期には必ず藍の存在がありました。 そしていま、藍に生かされている僕があります。 僕は、そんな藍という大切な存在に恩返しをしてゆきたいのです。

藍という美しい文化・藝が 先の世にも在り続けるよう、 手を動かし、ものをつくり、 藝を伝え続けてゆく人間でありたいです。 藍を通していただくことができたすべての御縁、 そして、こんにちこの場でお逢いできた御縁に心から感謝しています。

When I think about who I am, to be honest, I don't feel like I'm a dyer, an indigo master, a craftsman, or an artist. The only thing I can say is that I'm someone who loves indigo from the bottom of my heart.

Starting with my exposure to indigo in my childhood, indigo has always been present at turning points and transitions in my life. And now, I am alive today because of indigo. I want to give back to the precious existence of indigo.

I want to be someone who continues to use my hands, create things, and pass on the art so that the beautiful culture and art of indigo will continue to exist in future generations. I am truly grateful for all the connections I have made through indigo, and for the opportunity to meet you here today.
